Turkmenistan Today Remarks on Niyazov Our Values
In three consecutive years Freedom House listed Turkmenistan amongst the world's eight "worst" regimes, determined by their repression of civil liberties andš political rights...
"There is one country in the OSCE region where I have basically put all the activities of my Office on hold. This is Turkmenistan, a dictatorial regime in our organisation, where the only function of the media is to glorify the President-for-life and destroy his opponents. Until civil liberties are reinstated I do not see any reason to work with the government. Of course, I will continue defending those reporters who run a foul of this racist dictatorship."
We believe in a democratic and open society, based on the rule of law, separation of executive, judicial and legislative power.
We believe in an effective functioning Government, a free market economy, an independent press and a vibrant civil society.
We believe in freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.
We believe in adherance to human rights.
We believe that good Government is based on the individual and that each person's ability, dignity, freedom and responsibilty must be honored and recognized.
We believe that only free enterprise and the encouragement of individual initiative and incentive will bring prosperity.
We believe that sound money policy and strong education should be our goal.
We believe in equal rights, equal justice, and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, age, sex or national origin.
We believe that persons with disabilities should be afforded equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity as well.
We believe that the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.
If you share our values, you are invited to become a member of the Republican Party of Turkmenistan.
